The huge 240 x 320 full color TouchView display allows intuitive access to multiple parameters. A cornucopia of controllers, in addition to the 61 keys, include 8 assignable sliders, 4 assignable switches, a joystick and 2 fixed function faders. In addition, the Pa1X houses a rich biamped sound system featuring 2 - 13cm deep bass speakers, each one powered by its own 35W amplifier. 2 additional 12W amps provide power and clarity for 2 soft dome tweeters. The specially designed enclosure, limiter, and custom EQ ensure the highest quality sound. Armed with Korg's RX Technology, the PA1X uses up to 5 oscillators to produce a detailed, sophisticated natural sound. Unparalleled levels of expression are supported by sample data including natural vibratos, real trombone slides, tongued and overblown flutes, guitar pull-offs and harmonics, and so much more. The DSP-modeled organ lets you use the assignable sliders as realtime drawbars for amazing realism. You can also draw on a 62-note polyphony, 828 sounds, 256 user-programmable sounds, 48 preset drum kits, 64 programmable drum kits, 4 stereo master effects featuring 90 effect types, and a set of vocal effects borrowed from TC-Helicon.
The Pa1X is also an accomplished sampler, able to read WAV, AIFF, Korg, and AKAI samples/multisamples. Sampled sounds can be sliced to create grooves and kits, assigned to sounds, or filtered, modified, and processed by the internal effects. Standard sample memory is 16MB, expandable to 32MB.
450 fully editable musical styles (with room for over 150 more), created by a team of the world's top musicians, will enhance your compositions and performances. Each style contains 8 accompaniment parts, 4 variations, 3 intros, 2 endings, 3 fills, a break, and a count-in further enrich each Style. Up to 4 Sounds can be split and stacked across the keyboard and played in realtime either by themselves or with a Style. 4 Single Touch Setting (STS) commands call up an entirely new set of sounds for your real time performance parts, appropriate for the current Style. You can also use the exclusive SongBook function to select a song from a user-defined database and instantly call up the correct settings needed to play that song.
The XDS Dual Sequencer on the Pa1X uses a DJ-style crossfader to blend between sequencers, and you can sync both sequencers together as you play to put together a 40-part arrangement for performance. It can also be used as a 16-track linear workstation-style sequencer.
The Pa1X comes equipped with 2 pairs of audio outputs plus 2 pairs of MIDI I/O. You'll also find 2 audio inputs, one of which can be switched to a balanced MIC input with separate gain control. As a central piece of your growing digital studio, the Pa1X also sports a coaxial S/PDIF output. The back panel offers a damper pedal input, an assignable pedal input, and a connection to the optional EC5 pedalboard with 5 assignable footswitches.
