• 简介：Don't be misled into thinking Novation's ReMote SL COMPACT MIDI Controller is a wireless, handheld device. You'll still need a USB cable to connect it to your DAW. However, it does bring a whole new meaning to the term "remote control" if you're referring to the second word, because of the way this 25-note keyboard takes command of all major sequencers and automatable plug-ins.
  
  The first key element that separates the ReMOTE SL Compact 25-Key MIDI Controller from its peers is its sizable, 144-character screen which displays up to eight assigned parameters at once, with the vital information presented in a logical fashion. Secondly, the included Automap Universal software cuts out almost all user setup as sequencer controls, and VST/AU parameters are intuitively assigned and mapped the moment they are booted up. The available parameters themselves pop up on the ReMOTE SL's screen and then you can personalize plug-in controls with its simple click and control "learn" function. While in Automap Universal Mode, the ReMOTE SL's unique PAC (pointer-assigned control) technology combined with its speed dial efficiently provide tactile control of any parameter on which the mouse pointer rests with an unlimited number of controls.
  
  If you prefer a little more hands-on approach, Manual Template mode provides 64 different assignable parameters between the eight encoders and eight buttons with LEDs combined with eight Group select switches. Sticking with that numbered theme, eight large, velocity-sensitive trigger pads can be used to play samples or help perfect a beat you're working on. The Novation MIDI Controller also has separate, assignable pitch and mod wheels to play and a 25-key, 2-octave semi-weighted keyboard featuring aftertouch.
  
  It may be compact, but this portable MIDI controller is a smart choice, thanks to it's intelligent design and "control" issues.
